House Fire In Kings Contrivance Displaces 7
Firefighters extinguished a blaze in the Kings Contrivance area Tuesday night, according to officials.

COLUMBIA, MD — Seven people were displaced after a house fire broke out in Columbia Tuesday night. The blaze occurred before 9 p.m. in the 7400 block of Sandalfoot Way, officials said.
A resident called 911 after seeing smoke and flames moving quickly through the home, authorities reported.
Crews were at the scene of the fire as of 9:05 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

All seven residents were out when firefighters arrived, and as crews were battling the blaze, officials said the garage attached to the home collapsed. Within an hour, the fire was placed under control.
As of approximately 11 p.m., officials reported that the fire was out. Firefighters were continuing to look for hot spots.

Family and friends were assisting the residents, officials said, and nobody was injured. The fire marshal was investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
