Robbers with Handguns, Package Thief: Columbia Police Blotter

Pizza delivery driver, person in restaurant were among recent armed robbery victims in Columbia, police said.

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in Columbia.

A gaming system and games were stolen from a residence in the 10300 block of College Square sometime between 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29. The sliding glass door was broken.

A teenager who implied he had a gun robbed someone in the 6500 block of Quiet Hours at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Packages were stolen from an apartment building closet in the 5700 block of Stevens Forest Road. The door was tampered with sometime between Wednesday, Jan. 21, and Thursday, Jan. 22.

A 2014 platinum Mercedes E350 was reported stolen from the 6200 block of Amherst Avenue at 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22.

A black 2013 Hyundai Accent with Maryland tag “6BA8377” was stolen from Merryrest Road at Kilimanjaro Road sometime between Thursday, Dec. 4, and Thursday, Jan. 22.

Two men demanded money from a person in the 9400 block of Timesweep Lane. They went through the victim’s pockets and vehicle and having found nothing, left. The incident was reported at 3:23 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

A vacant apartment was damaged in the 5600 block of Columbia Road at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

A bicycle and skateboard were stolen from the 9000 block of Blue Pool sometime between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20. The suspect, a juvenile who forced his way into the garage, was charged with burglary.

Two people were charged with burglary and malicious destruction of property after an employee of a housing complex in the 53300 block of Columbia Road found them inside. One of the suspects was also charged with possession of paraphernalia. The incident was reported at 11:22 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19.

A cell phone and cash were stolen in an armed robbery in the 7200 block of Dockside Lane. The victim was walking when two men approached him, one of them with a handgun, at 2:09 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18.

Two cell phones, an iPod, BB gun and clothing were stolen in a street robbery in the 8700 block of Cloudleap Court. Three men had approached two pedestrians at approximately 6:41 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18. One of the suspects showed that he had a handgun.

Three suspects—two of them armed with handguns—approached someone inside a restaurant in the 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road and demanded his belongings. They left with his cell phone, jewelry, belt and cash at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18.

A pizza delivery person was robbed on her way to make a delivery in the 6000 block of Wild Ginger Court at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16. A young man approached her, demanded cash and implied he had a weapon. After obtaining the money, he left on foot.
