US 29 Vehicle Fire Slows Traffic Near Columbia
BREAKING: The backup during the Monday evening rush hour on US 29 in Columbia was due to a vehicle fire, officials said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD - A vehicle fire slowed traffic on US 29 near Columbia during the Monday rush hour, according to transportation officials.
The vehicle fire occurred on US 29 north in the area of Rivers Edge, officials reported. The single-vehicle incident happened before 4:30 p.m.
As of 5:40 p.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration reported there was a 2.2-mile backup because the two left lanes were closed on US 29 north.

By 6:15 p.m., one lane had reopened, and the left lane and left shoulder remained closed.
