UPDATE: No Name Yet of Victim Found in Waugh Chapel Pond

GAMBRILLS, MD — Authorities have not released the name of a man whose body was found in a retention pond Friday night, and are working to determine the chain of events.

Divers removed a body from the retaining pond behind the Waugh Chapel stores Friday night, the Capital-Gazette reports.

The newspaper reports a man was seen floating face-down in the pond behind Grotto Pizza on Brandermill Boulevard. The site is between the Village at Waugh Chapel and Waugh Chapel Towne Centre shopping centers.

Anne Arundel County Polices spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure tells Patch that investigators believe the man "entered the pond under his own power but we are still investigating as to the circumstances why."
