Eyes on Target See 'Eye of Sauron'

A Reddit user says the architectural tower at the Gambrills Target store looks eerily like the Eye of Sauron in the "Lord of the Rings" movies.

Eyes on Target See 'Eye of Sauron'

Do the tower-like structures at the Target store in Gambrills look like an evil entity from “The Lord of the Rings” films?

A post on Reddit seems to think so. Titled “ I think Target is going to try to conquer Middle Earth,” a user posted a photo of the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre store.

The Baltimore Business Journal compares the Target architectural feature to the films' depiction of the Eye of Sauronglowing on a tower next to Mount Doom.

The photo with clouds overhead and Target/Lord of the Rings comparison has prompted nearly 600 comments, both clever and snarky, from readers. Some could make great pseudo-marketing campaigns, perhaps.

Here are a few of the offerings that struck Patch editors as amusing.

DrDragun says: Choose setting for stones both semi-precious and PRECIOUSSSSS

Thybro suggests: Only three easy payments of your body, mind and soul you can get it all with an (expanded) lifetime guaranteed.

Pure_Defiance says: DISCLAIMER: Target Stores Inc will not be held liable for any cave dwelling, loss of hair or talking in the third person.

philphan25 offers this: One sale to rule them all, one sale to find them. One sale to bring them all, and in the darkness bankrupt them.

What do you think? Got a slogan for the store? Share it in comments.
