How Cold Is It? Politician Spotted with Hands in His Own Pockets!

Dundalk Patch readers approach the cold weather with a sense of humor.

How Cold Is It? Politician Spotted with Hands in His Own Pockets!
The extreme cold temperatures that have embraced the Baltimore region have caused problems for homeowners, school systems and business owners.

Pipes are freezing, parents are questioning the decisions of school officials—in cases of opening and closing schools—and power outages and other weather-related problems have closed businesses and individual schools.

In Dundalk, Berkshire Elementary School was closed for the day because of a power outage.

But through it all, many have maintained a sense of humor. The cold weather is temporary, and spring is only about 71 days away.

We asked Dundalk Patch Facebook fans to complete the sentence, "It's so cold that …" so we could compile a fun and friendly look at the brutally cold weather.

Readers responded with gusto and humor, as evidenced by the following contributions:

"It's so cold that I just saw a politician with his hands in his own pockets." — Mike Sherba

"It's so cold out, we had to chisel the dog off the fire hydrant." — Slidell Jones

"It's so cold that my Ravens flamingos are ice skating on my pool cover." — Kathy O'Connell-Martin

"It's so cold my toothpaste froze." — Senora McGuire

"It's so cold out, there will be a baby boom come October from all of the snuggling to keep warm." — Heather Panowicz

"It's so cold that Subway's foot-longs are only four inches." —Dale Edwards
