Maryland has part of Donald Trump's five-state GOP primary sweep Tuesday, and helped Hillary Clinton inch closer to denying the Democratic nomination to Bernie Sanders.
There are still primaries to come before the two parties officially crown their nominees this summer at national conventions and the national campaign begins.
As we've seen, anything can happen (and a lot already has!) in this year's unlike-any-other-in-recent-memory election season. But all things considered, it looks like Trump and Clinton are safe bets to capture their respective parties' nominations for president.

Patch is taking a very informal, very unofficial poll after Tuesday night's Maryland primary results. Who would you vote for if indeed the race comes down to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for president. And share your thoughts in the comments.
On Wednesday, with 99.2 percent of all votes counted, the AP says Clinton had captured 63 percent of Maryland Democrats' votes to 33 percent for Sanders.
And Trump had 54 percent of the state's GOP ballots, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich with 23 percent, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz a distant third at 19 percent.
The Maryland Board of Elections shows the same voting percentages. Former Johns Hopkins surgeon Dr. Ben Carson, who dropped out of the GOP contest weeks ago, still landed 1.3 percent of the votes.
