Running Man Challenge Heads to 'Ellen Show'

Two players on the University of Maryland men's basketball team talked with Ellen DeGeneres Tuesday about their internet dance craze.

They have moves on the basketball court and off.

And on Tuesday, they share those dance moves with the country thanks to an appearance this afternoon on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

University of Maryland hoops players Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens gained internet fame for their video showing their footwork in the Running Man Challenge.

Started by the duo, the challenge is simple: do the running man to an old '90s hit song called "My Boo" by Ghost Town DJ's. The dance craze has taken off in the last three weeks, with versions of the dance showing up on social media courtesy of the NFL, NBA, and others.

On Tuesday alone, new video clips were posted on Twitter showing Olympic runners, the Golden State Warriors dance squad, the Los Angeles Dodgers and even police in New Zealand taking part in the challenge.

Jaylen told Ellen at Monday’s taping that they goof off in the locker room dancing for their teammates. When Jared showed him the challenge on Instagram, they agreed they had to make a video of their take on the dance.

Ellen gave the Maryland players jersey style underwear, while the dance creators received a check for $10,000. Then all four of the men hit the floor to show Ellen’s audience their style.
