UPDATED: I-95 South Crash Jams Traffic Before Exit for Harbor Tunnel

Although lanes reopened, drivers were advised to take alternate routes because of crash involving injury.

UPDATED (1:30 p.m.) — Transportation officials advise those planning to take Interstate 95 south Friday afternoon toward I-895 to take another route due to a crash.

From approximately 12:45 to 1:30 p.m., all lanes on I-95 south were closed because of the collision at mile marker 61.9, prior to the exit for the Harbor Tunnel/I-895.

As of 1:55 p.m., two left lanes were open on I-95 south, while two right lanes were still blocked, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.

The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a van, the Baltimore County Police Department said at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Drivers should take I-695, MD 7 or US 40 as alternate routes, authorities advised.
