The new Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom Memorial will be dedicated in Towson this week.

TOWSON, MD — A monument honoring the Baltimore County residents who served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom will be dedicated this week.

There were 27 citizens from the county who lost their lives in these conflicts, according to a statement from Baltimore County government. The Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom Memorial will honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Located on the grounds of the Baltimore County Courthouse, the granite monument is the result of five years of fundraising, officials said. A grant from the state of Maryland as well as contributions from veterans groups, businesses, organizations and individuals made the memorial possible.
