Target Recalls Melting Menorahs Because of Fire Danger
Just in time for Hanukkah, Target has a recalled an acrylic menorah that melts when it holds burning candles.
An acrylic Hanukkah menorah that Target first recalled in May is again being recalled after three fires were reported when the menorahs melted during use, the national retailer says.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the clear menorah has had eight incidents where it melted when candles were burning, and in three of those cases, a fire was started. The agency says none of the fires resulted in property damage or injury.
The menorahs were sold in Target stores from October 2015 to December 2015 for about $20. A description of the recalled menorahs says they have a pyramid design that is 10.5 inches long, 1.2 inches wide and 2.3 inches high. Model number 240-14-0169 and bar code can be found on a round white label on the side of the menorah.
