Snow Alert: Showers, Slick Roads Possible Overnight in Baltimore-Washington Area
Crews were preparing roads Wednesday afternoon in some areas for the potential of snowfall and slippery roadways.
Crews were treating roadways in some parts of Maryland on Wednesday afternoon, with the threat for light snow and slick roads overnight.
Possible overnight snow showers could lead to light accumulation and slippery conditions in the Baltimore-Washington area, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow will most likely occur between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday, according to the special weather statement, updated Wednesday afternoon.

Because temperatures will be near freezing, there is the potential for slipperiness, officials advised. "Don't underestimate what a small amount of snow can do to cold pavement," read a statement from the Maryland Transportation Authority.
The local weather service produced a video warning about the dangers of light winter precipitation on commutes.

The forecast calls for temps to drop below freezing overnight Wednesday and to stay there until Saturday.
