Summer Gas Prices: What Maryland Counties Let You Fill Up On The Cheap?
What's the average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gas in Maryland?

BALTIMORE, MD — Call it the circle of life for the summer vacation season: Warm weather means US travelers itching to hit the open road during their off time, and that increase in demand translates into an increase at the gas pump. But Maryland is bucking the national trend of higher gas prices, seeing a drop in the average price to fill up, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.
As June gets under way, the average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gas in Maryland is $2.36, a 1-cent decrease from the national average at $2.37.
At the local level, the average gas price in Baltimore is $2.35, which is 4-cents higher than the city's average a month ago. The Washington suburbs of Maryland will see an average gas price of $2.39, which is the same price average as June 2016.

Hagerstown in Washington County has a current average of $2.30, Cumberland in Allegany County has an average of $2.41 and Salsibury in Wicomico County has a $2.42 average.
To compare, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in DC is $2.53, placing in the second spot on the top 10 weekly list of most expensive markets. Pennsylvania is the most expensive with the average gas price at $2.57.

According to AAA, the nation's top three markets with the cheapest gas this week include South Carolina ($2.03), Alabama ($2.09), Oklahoma ($2.09), Mississippi ($2.09) and Tennessee ($2.11).
