Record Temperature Hit In Baltimore: National Weather Service
BREAKING: The National Weather Service says Baltimore tied a record for high temperature on June 13. Virginia broke an existing record.

BALTIMORE, MD — Temperatures at BWI have tied the previous record for June 13, according to the National Weather Service.
The temperature at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) reached 97 degrees Tuesday afternoon, weather officials reported.
The 97-degree record for June 13 was first set in 1956, according to officials.

The National Weather Service has been keeping records of temperatures at BWI since 1950.
Meanwhile, temperatures in Virginia broke a record, authorities said Tuesday afternoon. The temperature at Washington Dulles International Airport was 95 degrees, edging out the record of 94 degrees set in 1994. Officials say they began keeping records at Dulles in 1960.

The weather service advised that records are considered preliminary until they have been reviewed by the National Center for Environmental Information.
The three-day stretch of heat is expected to break Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters say that a cold front from New England will sink into the mid-Atlantic, dropping temps below 90 degrees through the end of the week. There will be chances of isolated thunderstorms, with daytime temperatures in the 80s and nighttime temps in the 60s.
