Maryland Weekend Weather: Temps Flirt With 90 Degrees

Storms could start the weekend in Maryland, while scorching heat is all but certain, according to the National Weather Service.

MARYLAND — Even though Thursday's heat advisory has passed, the weekend is still shaping up to be a scorcher in Maryland. That's the word from area branch of the National Weather Service.

There's a chance of rain throughout Friday and thunderstorms at night, but don't expect it to cool off the area much. Temperatures will hit the 90s and 70s.

Saturday looks nicer with partly sunny skies, but temperatures will likely stay the same. Sunday is even better with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures. Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. High near 91. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Low around 72. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Light and variable wind.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
