Flood Warning Issued For Baltimore Metro Area

BREAKING: Flooding is possible in Baltimore City and Baltimore County after recent rainfall, the National Weather Service advised.

BALTIMORE, MD - The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for parts of Baltimore City and Baltimore County, effective until 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

At 5:09 p.m., weather officials said radar showed thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain clustered from Catonsville to Laurel, moving northeast at 5 mph, after approximately 1 to 2 inches of rain had fallen.

Areas that may experience flooding include Baltimore, Pikesville, Middle River, North Point State Park, Sparrows Point, Back River, Millers Island, Dundalk, Towson, Essex, Parkville, Carney, Perry Hall, Rosedale, Rossville, White Marsh, Bowleys Quarters, Hampton, Edgemere and Nottingham.

If drivers see standing water on the road, they are advised to turn around; don't drown.
