Museum Day Live 2017: Get Free Tickets To Maryland's Historic Sites (ICYMI)

Goddard Visitor Center, Star Spangled Banner Flag House and other Maryland museums offer free admission this weekend. Get your tickets.

BALTIMORE, MD — Museums across the state — including the Star Spangled Banner Flag House in Baltimore, the Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival site in Annapolis, NASA's Goddard Visitor Center in Greenbelt and the Baltimore Museum of Art — will offer free admission for visitors this weekend as part of Museum Day Live!

The annual event provides unique tickets for free admission on Saturday, Sept. 23, to participating museums across the country, including more than 30 historical sites in Maryland. Learn more about NASA missions at the Goddard Visitor Center, see what life was like on an 1800s plantation at Montpelier Mansion, or learn about the ecology of Chesapeake Bay at the Annapolis Maritime Museum. And the Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival site at City Dock celebrates the heritage of "Roots" author Alex Haley's ancestor, Kunta Kinte, who arrived in Annapolis in 1767 to be sold into slavery. The Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Susan Campbell Park in Historic Downtown Annapolis. Admission is free to the family-friendly cultural celebration which features live music, dance performances, world foods and artisan vendors, children's activities, and history.
