Wednesday, Oct. 4, is National Taco Day. Here are deals that restaurants are offering for the big day.

Move over Taco Tuesday. As it turns out, Wednesday, Oct. 4, is National Taco Day. According to the celebration's website, Americans ate more than 4.5 billion tacos last year. That's 490,000 miles of tacos — enough to take you to the moon and back — or 775 million pounds of the tasty Mexican entree, equal to the weight of two Empire State Buildings.

We don't expect you to put down quite that many tacos on Wednesday all by yourself. But now that we've put the idea in your head, we bet you're thinking about grabbing two or three for dinner.



Restaurants and fast-food joints across the country will celebrate National Taco Day with deals and specials. In honor of this fiesta, Offers.com rounded up places you can go to save on National Taco Day. Check out the deals below:

  • Chuy’s is celebrating National Taco Day with $1 off Mexican Beer all day on October 4, plus $1 Crispy Beef tacos added to any order. If you come dressed in a taco costume, you’ll get a free entree.
  • On The Border is offering 50-cent mini tacos all day long on October 4 for dine-in customers and 20 percent off catering items with the promo code Taco17, October 2 to 8.
  • Taco Bell is offering a Taco Day Gift Set, which includes a Crunchy Taco, a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, a Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco and a Fiery Doritos Locos taco for $5. Spicy Potato Soft Tacos are also on its $1 Cravings menu.
  • Taco Cabana will give you a free fajita taco if you sign up for its E-Club.
  • El Pollo Loco offers a free entree (up to $7 in value) when you join the Loco Rewards program.

Bonus deal: Applebee's is offering $1 margaritas all month for its Neighborhood Appreciation Month promotion.
