Amazon Fresh Leaving Maryland Markets: Report
The grocery delivery service will cease operations in parts of Maryland, sources say.

MARYLAND — Grocery deliveries through the Amazon Fresh service will stop in several markets, including Maryland, at the end of the month, according to reports.
Amazon Fresh allows people to buy their groceries online and have them delivered. It costs $14.99 a month and is only available to Amazon Prime members.
The delivery service will stop serving parts of Maryland at the end of November, according to Reuters.

Baltimore and Washington, D.C., will still have access to Amazon Fresh, an Amazon spokesperson told Patch.
The announcement that the service would be ending in parts of Maryland meant that the grocery delivery service had a short life in suburban parts of the Free State; Amazon Fresh had just launched in Maryland in January.

Several customers took to Twitter to ask Amazon to stay in the suburbs.
"Please reconsider coming to zipcode 20754 in Maryland. You changed my family’s life," one person tweeted from Dunkirk, in the Anne Arundel/Calvert county area.
"I would like to know too why AmazonFresh is leaving my area (in silver spring Maryland). We depended on the deliveries!" another said from Montgomery County.
"I buy virtually all of my groceries from Amazon Fresh. MUCH better service than FreshDirect, PeaPod, etc. Bummed," added a consumer in the D.C.-Baltimore metro area.
Reuters reported that the decision to pull out of some markets was unrelated to the acquisition of Whole Foods by Amazon. Service will stop in Maryland after Nov. 30, according to the news service.
Those in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia will continue to have access to Amazon Fresh, according to Tech Crunch, which reported the areas where the service would be discontinued included not-as-large cities in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
