Maryland Weather: Snow In Forecast 2 Days This Week

Maryland's work-week weather forecast includes snow over two days, and there's a chance it could be more than flurries.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Snow will fall across Maryland and northern Virginia Tuesday and Wednesday, say forecasts. But just how much will fall is unclear, according to the National Weather Service. So far, its experts are calling for 2 to 3 inches of snow from Washington, D.C., to Annapolis, Baltimore and Bel Air.

The slight chances begin Monday and will continue to increase. According to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang, "the most likely scenarios at this point seem to span between a dusting to three inches falling between Tuesday night and Wednesday."

A fast-moving low-pressure system will bring snow to the Midwest and East early this week as portions of the South face a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain. By Tuesday night or Wednesday, snow is possible along the East Coast, from New England to the Carolinas, according to The Weather Channel. Some locations near the immediate coast may see rain instead of snow. Widespread, heavy snowfall is not expected at this time.
