Maryland Town By Town Snow Totals On January 17 2018

BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore-Washington area was expected to get up to 3 inches of snowfall on Wednesday, Jan. 17. How did the forecast pan out? The National Weather Service provided the following preliminary snowfall measurements from weather spotters, media and government agencies.

The highest report in the state came from western Maryland, where Pectonville in Washington County recorded 4 inches of snow, according to the unofficial data received as of Wednesday morning.

All measurements were taken Wednesday, Jan. 17, unless otherwise noted.

The snow was enough to close many schools in the region. Public schools in Baltimore City as well as Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's and Queen Anne's counties were all closed for students on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

While the snow ended before 10 a.m., drivers were advised to use caution on area roads, since wet spots may be icy, as temperatures remain below freezing. Check the forecast from the National Weather Service.
