4 Maryland Bridges Under Wind Advisories
BREAKING: Drivers should use extra caution driving on bridges Monday, particularly these four, Maryland transportation officials say.

Four Maryland bridges are operating under wind warnings or wind restrictions Monday morning, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. The Key, Hatem and Tydings bridges are under wind warnings. The Bay Bridge has wind restrictions in place.
Winds of 40 to 49 mph trigger limited wind restrictions, which is the situation at the Bay Bridge. Under limited wind restrictions, the following are prohibited on the bridge: house trailers, empty box trailers or any other vehicle that law enforcement personnel say may not safely cross. Drivers denied passage will be given assistance so they can safely turn around.
Wind warnings are in effect for the Hatem, Key and Tydings bridges, triggered by 30 to 39 mph winds. Drivers of the following vehicles should use extra caution while crossing the bridge during a wind warning: house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds.

Drivers are advised to keep both hands on the wheel during high winds, which are expected to continue throughout the day.
In addition, on Monday morning, Maryland State Police advised multiple crashes were being reported, particularly on overpasses, bridges and untreated surfaces, as a result of ice that formed overnight. Those planning to travel should allow extra time and reduce their speeds.
