Maryland Weather: Snow Returns To Weekend Forecast
Weather forecasters say snow could fall this weekend, or Maryland could get another rainstorm, so stay tuned.

BALTIMORE, MD — Could the Baltimore-DC region finally get some decent snow this weekend? While the National Weather Service and some local forecasters are calling for snow Saturday afternoon and evening, it won't be enough to hold your own Winter Olympics in the backyard. And just how the expected precipitation shakes out is still, pun intended, very much up in the air.
But there is a cold front headed in our direction Friday that will produce a wave of low pressure as it rolls through the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday and into Sunday. That means Saturday afternoon and into the evening, some snow could develop along the I-95 corridor from D.C. up into New England, according to The Weather Channel.
The Weather Service puts the odds of snow in the Baltimore-DC area at 40 percent Saturday afternoon, then boosts precipitation chances — for both rain and snow — to 70 percent through 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang says there is a possibility of snow on Saturday. But they're skeptical.
"On Saturday, things get interesting. The front will stall to our south, and low pressure is forecast to form along the front, drawing up moisture from the south while cold air pours in from north," they write. "The questions are how much moisture and how much cold air will ultimately converge over the D.C. area."

A snowstorm is just one of several possibilities. The others are a rainstorm if temperatures are too high, or nothing at all regardless of the temperature if we don't get enough moisture.
"Ultimately, the amount of moisture and cold air will depend on the track of the low pressure center that forms, and this is where forecast models are all over the map," CWG says.
