2 Dead In Wrong-Way Crash On I-695 Near Liberty Road: Police
BREAKING: Police said two drivers were killed early Thursday morning on Interstate 695; one was going the wrong way on the beltway.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Two drivers died in a crash on Interstate 695 near Liberty Road early Thursday morning in which one was going the wrong way, according to police. The head-on collision happened before 2 a.m. on the inner loop of the beltway.
Authorities said that police received a call about a car going to the wrong way on I-695 at I-795 and moments later got another call that there had been a collision on the inner loop of I-695 at Liberty Road.
Jorene Long, 88, of York, Pennsylvania, was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said. Her family had reported her missing in Pennsylvania Thursday night after she went on an errand in the afternoon and had not returned by the evening, according to authorities. Her 2003 Subaru Forester had been going the wrong way on I-695, and investigators were reconstructing the crash, working to understand where she got on the beltway.

Sedrick L. Beasley, 54, of Edgewood, also died at the scene, police said. Beasley had been driving a 2017 Ford Focus that was hit head-on by Long.
During the investigation, authorities said three left lanes were closed on I-695 near the exit for Liberty Road. By 4:50 a.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration reported all lanes had reopened on I-695.
