Baltimore Orioles Pull Plug On Papa John's Promotion: Report
The O's have cut off a 50-percent off deal with a pizza giant.

BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly discontinued a partnership with Papa John's. The pizza company and the O's previously offered a deal in which fans could get 50 percent off their order the day after the Orioles scored five runs in a game.
To get the deal, fans had to use promotional code ORIOLES5 and place their order online.
The partnership is no longer, WBAL reported on Friday, noting the O's fallout came on the heels of a controversy that led Major League Baseball and the University of Louisville to cut ties with the pizza giant too.

Papa John's founder John Schnatter resigned as chairman of the pizza chain's board after reportedly using a racial slur, though his image remains on the company's logo.
The company made the announcement late Wednesday, hours after Schnatter apologized for using a racial slur during a conference call in May. Schnatter, who has appeared in TV ads for the pizza chain, still owns about 30 percent of the company's shares.
