SUV Trapped Under Tractor-Trailer On I-695: Officials

One person was hospitalized after an SUV got wedged under a tractor-trailer Friday morning, officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Drivers trying to get to the outer loop of Interstate 695 from I-95 at exit 33 were advised to take alternate routes Friday morning due to a serious crash. The ramp was blocked from I-95 north to the outer loop of I-695 as emergency personnel handle a serious crash, according to authorities.

One person was trapped in a black SUV that was underneath a tractor-trailer, according to Baltimore County fire officials, who said they were conducting a heavy rescue after 7:15 a.m.

Authorities reported the victim had been freed by 7:55 a.m. Drivers were advised to use US 1 and US 40 as alternate routes as the ramp remained closed.

The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by ambulance, officials said.

After 11 a.m., Maryland State Police reported ramp had reopened.
