Maryland Weather: Freeze Warning Issued As Arctic Air Moves In

Maryland's weekend weather begins with some of the coldest conditions we've experienced in many months.

BALTIMORE, MD — Dig out your jackets, gloves and toasty sweaters, Maryland's weekend weather forecast brings some of the coldest temperatures seen in months, enough to prompt a freeze warning from 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, through 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Temperatures dropping into the upper 20s and lower 30s along Interstate 95 and areas to the east will bring the growing season to an end in those locales.

The freeze warning includes: the District of Columbia, Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Marys, Calvert, and Harford counties, plus the cities of Baltimore, Bowie,
Suitland, Silver Hill, Clinton, College Park, Greenbelt, Laurel, Camp Springs, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Severn, South Gate, Severna Park, Arnold, Odenton, St. Charles, Waldorf, Lexington Park, California, Chesapeake Beach, Huntingtown, Dunkirk, North Beach, Lusby, Prince Frederick, Jarrettsville, and Aberdeen.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang calls the arctic air moving in the coldest of the season so far. Making it feel even chillier will be strong winds Saturday and Sunday.

"A blast of Arctic air will dive into the area during the predawn hours Saturday," the Washington Post writes. "You will notice it moving in if you are outside on Saturday, as winds buffet the region and send wind chills into the 20s and 30s and temperatures struggle into the 40s for highs. ... It will definitely feel like winter for the first time this season."
