BCPS Makes Weather Decision For Monday, Jan. 14

Baltimore County Public Schools officials made a call regarding schools on Monday, Jan. 14, after this weekend's snowfall.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Baltimore County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 14. Officials made the announcement Sunday night.

Although schools will be closed for students, authorities said that offices will open two hours late.

Baltimore County remains under a winter storm warning until midnight for snow. More than 5 inches of snow have already fallen, with another 1 to 3 inches expected before the warning expires.

At 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service reported that moderate-to-heavy snow showers were continuing in areas that included the Baltimore-Washington metro region.

Due to the snow, road conditions may deteriorate quickly and become hazardous, with visibility less than a quarter of a mile, officials advised.

As temperatures reach the low 20s, untreated areas may turn icy overnight, according to a special weather statement issued after 6 p.m. on Sunday.
