Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued; Watch Still In Effect
Several areas are under a severe thunderstorm watches or warnings Sunday, the National Weather Service advised.
Several areas are under severe thunderstorm warnings, while the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch Sunday for 14 counties and Baltimore City in Maryland. A severe thunderstorm watch, meaning conditions are favorable for the development of thunderstorms, is in effect from 12:55 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.
Hail the size of golf balls was being reported as severe storms passed through Washington, D.C., the National Weather Service reported before 5:45 p.m.
To prepare, people should go inside and take cover on the lowest floor, remaining in an interior room until the threat has passed.

Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:45 p.m., according to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency.
Harford County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday after radar indicated a severe thunderstorm at 5:39 p.m. near Bel Air and Aberdeen that was moving east at 25 mph, the weather service reported. It had 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, according to the warning.

Isolated severe thunderstorms could occur Sunday afternoon into early evening, according to a hazardous weather outlook from the weather service. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat, with large hail also possible.
