Climate Strike List Of Maryland Events On Sept. 20
Maryland's climate strikes happening Friday, Sept. 20 will coincide with global demonstrations scheduled ahead of UN Climate Action Summit.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Youths in Maryland, across the country and worldwide will stage a strike Friday, Sept. 20, to draw greater attention to the global climate crisis. The event is expected to be one of the largest environmental protests ever held.
Millions of people are expected to walk out of their schools, workplaces and homes to demand reductions in corporate pollution and an end to fossil fuels and environmental destruction.
There are several strikes in Baltimore scheduled to take place Friday, Sept. 20 — at Loyola University, MICA and near the Inner Harbor. And similar events are planned in Annapolis, in Columbia, and in Montgomery County.
The international protest comes days before the United Nations Climate Action Summit taking place Sept. 23 in New York City, where leaders from government, business and civil society are expected to address the global climate emergency.
