Timeline Of Heavy Rain, Wind For Sunday Released: MD Weather

BALTIMORE, MD — Rain chances increase for Maryland during the overnight hours and the rain becomes heavy from mid-morning through the afternoon on Sunday. Some areas of the state may see 2 inches of rain before the precipitation tapers off Sunday evening. A small craft advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. Saturday to midnight Sunday with winds expected of 18 to 33 knots.

Skies will clear Sunday night and the first day of the work week will be gorgeous — sunny and a high of 71 degrees.

The National Weather Service says that on Sunday the state will see "possibly a thunderstorm between 9am and 3pm, then a chance of showers after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. High near 78. Southeast wind 9 to 16 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible."
