Man Fatally Shot By Baltimore County Police: Report

The shooting happened on Interstate 83 after the man allegedly threatened to harm himself and others.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Baltimore County. According to reports, the man was fatally shot by an officer Tuesday night during a traffic stop on Interstate 83 in Sparks Glencoe.

The traffic stop was the result of a call earlier in the evening when police responded to a home on the unit block of Pheasant Wood Court, the Baltimore Sun reports. Officers were told a man at the residence was threatening to harm himself and others, a police spokesperson told the Sun.

On their way to the scene, police learned the suspect left the home. After canvassing the area, police pulled him over traveling southbound on I-83 north of Belfast Road. Officials offered little detail surrounding what led up to the shooting, but did the suspect died at the scene after medics were called to treat his injuries.
