100 Of Maryland's Best Schools: New List For 2020

MARYLAND — Here's a new list that lets you know if your Maryland school district has the best schools on any grade level, public and private. And it also gives you a chance to question why your school doesn't rate better.

Niche.com, which specializes in all different types of rankings, including schools, has created a new list that is a bit different than the usual lists the company is known for. In this one, Niche has included both public and private schools for Maryland (see below).

That may not sound different than Niche's usual rankings, but this list includes both private and public schools and also includes elementary, middle and high schools all in the same list. Please note that this is not a ranking, but a search list, where you can see and compare all schools grouped together, organized by "Overall Grade."

It is important to remember that every school on this list received either an A+ or an A for an overall score from Niche.

Schools on the list include the private school Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, along with Poolesville High School and Winston Churchill High School, both Montgomery County Public Schools.

Whether a school finished first or 100th, there's not really a bad spot on the list. They all received A+ or A grades from Niche.

Niche arrives at the rankings by compiling user reviews and data from the U.S. Department of Education, including grades, culture and diversity, health and safety, sports and more. You can see the methodology here.
