3 Free Meals A Day For Kids: Get Them Here In Baltimore County
Here are the places to get free meals for children in Baltimore County during the school closures due to the new coronavirus.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Kids can receive three free meals every weekday during the school closure period, according to Baltimore County Public Schools. Public school officials made the announcement Tuesday that sites would begin offering breakfast, lunch and dinner for children to take home on Wednesday, March 18.
Due to the new coronavirus, public schools in Baltimore County and across the state are closed from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27.
The state requested a waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's requirement that children eat together in groups when they receive food through its federal meal program. At more than 40 sites, the Maryland Board of Education is providing "grab and go" items that cover three meals a day starting Wednesday, March 18.

Children 2 to 18 are eligible and must be present to redeem the meal; parents cannot accept food on behalf of children. The meal program is open to all children, not just those enrolled in the Free and Reduced-Price Meals program.
Carney Elementary School, Chadwick Elementary School, Cove Village Apartments—Essex, St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church on Eastern Avenue, Woodmoor Elementary School, Dulaney High School, Kings Point Shopping Center, Rosedale Library and Sollers Point Multi-Purpose Center were just added to the list of places where meals would be distributed, officials said.
