Baltimore Orioles first baseman Trey Mancini has colon cancer and says he will not be playing this season, even if baseball comes back online after the new coronavirus pandemic. The star was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in March in Florida and started chemotherapy this month in Baltimore.

The 28-year-old wrote about the experience on the Players Tribune, a platform for professional athletes, and said his chemotherapy treatment will continue every two weeks for six months.

"If baseball returns in 2020, it will probably be without me," Mancini wrote.
