All MD Jurisdictions Have Tested At Least 5% Of Residents: Hogan
Maryland's goal is for 10 percent of its population to be tested, according to the governor, who shared where each jurisdiction stood.

MARYLAND — There are 66,450 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Maryland, state health officials reported Saturday.
In the past 24 hours, the state has conducted more than 10,400 tests, according to Gov. Larry Hogan, who reported 8.5 percent of Maryland's population has been tested as of Saturday.
The positivity rate in the state is 4.86 percent on a rolling, seven-day average, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

Marylanders should continue practicing preventive measures like wearing face coverings and ensuring physical distance between one another, Hogan said Friday, after data showed that people under 35 were testing positive for the virus at a rate that was 34 percent higher than their elders.
Said Hogan: "We simply cannot afford to stop being vigilant and cautious."

Every jurisdiction in the state has tested at least 5 percent of their residents, according to Hogan.
"We continue encouraging county leaders to work toward our statewide goal of 10%," the governor said.

Overall 3,030 people in Maryland have died as of Saturday from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus. Nursing homes, group homes and assisted living facilities account for 1,880 deaths.

Coronavirus In Group Living Facilities
Every Wednesday, the Maryland Department of Health reports the latest data from congregate living facilities. Here is the information as of Wednesday, June 24:

This is an increase of 294 confirmed cases of the virus in nursing homes, group homes and assisted living facilities week to week.
State and local facilities saw an increase of 130 cases since last week.
There have been 50 additional deaths in nursing homes, group homes and assisted living facilities since last week, the data shows.
