MD Coronavirus Deaths Surpass 3,100 On Fourth Of July

MARYLAND — More than 69,000 people in Maryland have tested positive for the coronavirus, state health officials reported Saturday. More than 3,100 Marylanders have died from the virus.

Gov. Larry Hogan said 9.5 percent of Maryland’s population has been tested for COVID-19 as of Saturday.

"Maryland has now surpassed 700,000 COVID-19 tests," including nearly 13,000 tests Friday, Hogan said.

In the past day, 410 people tested positive for the coronavirus in Maryland, where more than 9,000 negative test results were also reported.

Hogan urged the public to follow guidance, such as wearing masks in public and physical distancing.

The positivity rate is 4.87 percent on a rolling, seven-day average, according to state officials.
