Community College Of Baltimore County Offers Free Tuition

CATONSVILLE, MD — The Community College of Baltimore County will be helping students afford college this fall during the coronavirus pandemic with free classes. CCBC anticipates that only a third of its students will be attending in-person classes at its six sites. College president Sandra Kurtinitis told WMAR that students could be eligible to receive supplemental aid after calculating in scholarships, grants and coronavirus relief funding. In all, it could save a student taking 12 credit hours upwards of $1,500 dollars.

“So many families have been impacted by what happened this past year, and once we had to go dark, we lost a number of our students who couldn’t study remotely so we are really doing everything we can to bring them back, to give them scholarships to retake their courses, to recruit new students, solicit our former student, anyway we can,” said Kurtinitis. “We have extraordinary capacity to help and we want to help our families in our community."
