MARYLAND — A haze across the region prompted authorities to issue a dense fog advisory Thursday morning, then extend it until noon.

Driving conditions may be hazardous because of the low visibility, the National Weather Service advises. Visibility is less than 0.25 mile.

Drivers should leave extra distance, reduce speed and use headlights, the advisory states.
