BCPS Employee To Compete On 'Top Chef Amateurs'
Two back-to-back episodes of "Top Chef Amateurs"' will air July 1 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. A sneak peek of the series will debut Thursday.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — During the day, foodie Bettina Applewhite serves as senior operations supervisor in the food and nutrition services office of Baltimore County Public Schools. In her spare time, she loves to cook, so much so that she will be competing on Bravo's "Top Chef Amateurs" reality show series.
Two back-to-back episodes of "Top Chef Amateurs" will air July 1 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. But a sneak peek of the series will debut Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
In each 30-minute episode, two amateur chefs will compete head-to-head in some of the most iconic challenges from the "Top Chef" archives including the mis-en-place race, blind taste test and they’ll even try to break the curse of "Top Chef's" most dreaded dish – risotto.

The amateur chefs will be paired with different "Top Chef" finalists, frontrunners and fan-favorites who will cook alongside them and help the amateurs battle against the clock. The winner of each episode will receive $5,000 provided by season-long prizing sponsor Wells Fargo.
