Homecoming Dances Canceled in Baltimore County Public Schools: Report

Baltimore County Public Schools is reportedly modifying certain fall activities as the coronavirus spreads.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — With the surge of the delta variant, Baltimore County Public Schools canceled certain events to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

There have been 185 cases of the virus in Baltimore County Public Schools, according to the BCPS COVID-19 dashboard as of Sept. 10.

Indoor pep rallies and homecoming dances have been called off, while activities like spirit week and halftime shows are still a go, according to WBAL. Baltimore County Public Schools made the announcement by email to families.

Homecoming games and outdoor festivities may continue with mitigation strategies in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus, WBFF reported.
