New Snowstorm Forecast For MD With More Snow Possible Thursday, Saturday
Two more winter storms are in the Maryland weather forecast, and arctic cold will linger into next week, the National Weather Service said.

MARYLAND — A winter weather advisory has been issued for the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., region as more snow moves into Maryland. Following the snow will be an Arctic blast that will likely make Marylanders shiver through the end of the month.
Counties in the winter weather advisory include: Carroll, Baltimore, Cecil, Montgomery, Howard and Harford. The National Weather Service said the advisory is in effect from 4 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
Residents should expect snow totals of up to 2 inches with locally higher amounts around 3 inches possible, the NWS said Wednesday evening.

And that's not all: Another winter storm is possible for Friday evening into Saturday morning.
An arctic front will bring a sharp drop in temperatures starting Thursday, and may be accompanied by rain changing to snow. Another winter storm could form Friday into Saturday. And a "very cold pattern" likely continues into next week, the weather service said.
"Light snow accumulations are possible into Thu morning," the National Weather Service in Baltimore tweeted. "Conditions turn colder and more blustery thereafter. Still monitoring the winter storm threat on Fri evening into Sat morning."
Chuck Bell, meteorologist with NBC4, said in the immediate D.C. area, residents should expect no more than an inch or two of snow on Thursday.
By Thursday morning, the rain will change over to a slushy wet snow during the Thursday morning commute. "Slushy roads will definitely slow down travel. Plan to start your day extra early or wait until after 10am," Bell said.
Looking ahead, the NWS is predicting another chance of snow, mainly after 8 p.m. on Friday, as temperatures drop to 15 degrees. The chance of light snow continues into Saturday morning before 8 a.m. Current models show only light snow, with little if any accumulation Friday night and Saturday night.
After these two storms, temperatures are expected to remain cold for the remainder of January, with high temperatures staying below 40 degrees in much of the region.
