Flowers Bloom, Tree Buds Emerge As Maryland Welcomes Spring: Photos Of The Week

MARYLAND — Maryland is slowly starting to warm up as spring takes hold. The new season began March 20, and Mother Nature is showing her beauty.

Patch asked readers to share their pictures of the springtime scenery. Here are a few of our favorites.

Michele Egan submitted this first photo of flowers blooming in her Rockville neighborhood.

Mary-Jo Ford Dale sent in the next picture. Her shot looks up at trees near The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Natalya B. Parris snapped this close-up of budding trees at the Damascus Community Recreation Center.

Don Pollins took this photograph of the Bradford pear tree outside his Hyattsville home. It blooms every year at about the same time as the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C.

Cathy Mearman captured this row of cherry trees along a Bethesda street.
