6 Hurt In Head-On Lothian Crash: Fire Officials
Six people were hurt, three seriously, when a car and pickup truck collided head-on in the Lothian area, Anne Arundel Fire officials said.

LOTHIAN, MD — Six people were hurt, three seriously, when a car and pickup truck collided head-on in the Lothian area, Anne Arundel County Fire officials said. The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Monday on Route 4 just south of Route 408 (Mount Zion Marlboro Road). According to the fire department, a car traveling north crossed through the median strip and struck a southbound pickup truck head-on.
The 38-year-old woman who drove the car was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters with help from responders from Calvert and Prince George’s counties. Paramedics requested a Maryland State Police medevac helicopter, which landed on Route 4 near the scene.
The car's driver and an 18-year-old male passenger were flown to the Trauma Center at Prince George’s Hospital Center suffering from injuries that were serious, but not believed to be life-threatening, authorities say. Another 18-year-old female passenger in the car was also taken to Prince George’s Trauma with serious injuries. Also, 14- and 16-year-old boys who were passengers in the car were taken to CalvertHealth Medical Center with minor injuries.

The 31-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Police have not released the names of those involved in the crash or said if charges will be filed.
