Where to See Fireworks, Parades in Anne Arundel 4th of July Weekend
Annapolis will have 4th of July music, food and fireworks, or catch Shady Side's parade. Will the weather cooperate?

You have several options to celebrate Independence day in Anne Arundel County.
Stay tuned to see if plans change because Mother Nature doesn't look like she'll give us fair weather. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for a soggy Independence Day.
Here's the updated July 4 forecast: Independence Day: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 79. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Area Celebrations
Annapolis: Watch the city's annual 4th of July parade, concert and fireworks show will bring some street closures and boating restrictions to the area.
City officials said the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 4, at Amos Garrett Boulevard and proceed along West Street, around Church Circle, and down Main Street. Following the parade, the United States Naval Academy Concert Band will perform a public concert at Susan Campbell Park.
The fireworks show will begin at about 9:15 p.m. Main Street and the Spa Creek Bridge (from Eastport to downtown) will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 p.m. and remain closed until the conclusion of the fireworks, at about 10 p.m.
Severna Park: The Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce July 4th parade will be held on Monday, July 4 at 10 a.m. The parade begins on Benfield Road at St. Martin's in-the-Field Episcopal Church and Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and culminates at Sunrise of Severna Park on Cypress Creek Road.
Shady Side: The community celebrates the holiday with a parade from 10 to 11 a.m. on July 4. It begins at Cedarhurst Road and ends at the Shady Side Community Center (the former Kiwanis Club) on Snug Harbor Road. For information, call Eddy Boardman at 443-3708720.
ANNAPOLIS 4TH OF JULY PARADE
Monday, July 4, 2016, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Watch marching bands, fire engines old and new, cars and vans, service clubs and scouts. ROUTE: The parade begins at Amos Garrett and West Street, heads down West Street, goes the wrong way around Church Circle, down Main Street, left on Randall Street, and ends in front of the Market House. Anywhere along the parade route will provide a good view of the parade.
UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY BAND
Monday, July 4, 2016, 8:00 pm to Dusk
Location: Susan Campbell Park - City Dock. The USNA Concert Band performs a public concert series featuring everything from light classics to marches to classic band literature and patriotic songs.
4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS IN HISTORIC ANNAPOLIS

Annapolis launches its fireworks from a barge in Annapolis Harbor. The best viewing areas include public spaces Northeast of the Severn River, City Dock, along the Naval Academy Bridge (limited parking area), any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek, and aboard a boat in the Annapolis harbor.
The Spa Creek Bridge will be closed to traffic from Eastport into Annapolis beginning at 6 p.m. The bridge will remain closed until the conclusion of the fireworks, at about 10 p.m.
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION
Parking will be restricted in many areas and parking in residential areas is not suggested.
Instead, park in Park Place Garage or Knighton Garage. Other city parking garages include Gott's Garage and Hillman Garage. Catch the Circulator Trolley along West Street for a ride to Main Street. The trolley will charge $1 per ride for adults with children 12 years and younger riding free of charge. The trolley will run from 8 a.m. to midnight.
