'Happy Neuter Year:' Local Group Offers $20 Neutering for Male Pets in January
If having your male dog or cat altered was on your new year to-do list, don't delay—the Spay Spa & Neuter Nook in Davidsonville is offering $20 neutering for male pets though the month of January.

Through the Happy Neuter Year program sponsored by PetSmart Charities, the Spay Spa will alter 100 male cats and/or dogs in January for $20.

“Neutering male pets is a simple surgery that reduces unwanted behaviors, like roaming, fighting, and urine marking territories,” Katherine Rude, president of the Spay Spa & Neuter Nook said in a statement. “It also guarantees your dog or cat never fathers a litter of puppies or kittens.”

Puppies and kittens can be neutered when they are as young as eight to ten weeks old, according to the  American Veterinary Medical Association.

The $20 fee represents a significant savings over the prices regularly charged for altering. Spay Spa usually charges $40 to neuter cats and $65 to $140 to neuter dogs, depending on the size.

This reduced-cost pet serialization is available to all Anne Arundel County residents. Visit the Spay Spa website, or call 443-607-6496 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
