Police: Man Steals Car, Burglarizes Home in Edgewater

Police used a stun gun to subdue and arrest a man for allegedly stealing a car and burglarizing a home in Edgewater on Wednesday night, according to police.

According to press release from Anne Arundel County police, a man allegedly took a woman’s keys at the Maryland Live! casino in Hanover and stole her car, drove it to Edgewater and burglarized her home.

Police charged Daniel Lee Miller, 50, of the 2600 block of Fairview Ave. in connection with the incident.

At around 6:06 p.m. Wednesday, western district police officers responded to the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover for a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a woman who said she lost her house and car keys inside the casino and then later realized her car was missing, according to police.

Officers learned her car was somewhere near her home on the 200 block of Night Haven Court, in the Colony Crossing community in Edgewater.

Southern district police went to the woman’s home to look for the stolen vehicle and one of the officers saw a man carrying property from the victim’s residence, according to the release.  Police ordered the man to stop but he refused and struggled with an officer who then used a stun gun to subdue the suspect, police said.

Officers recovered property taken from the woman’s home as well as her car, according to the release.
