For the past 38 years, the South County Preschool Co-op of Davidsonville has proven that learning through play fosters a love of education that benefits both parent and child.
Its two teachers, Barbara Freeman and Ann Collins hold over 20 years of experience in the classroom. They provide a rewarding and nurturing without smothering environment where children have room to express themselves and engage in imaginative play, completely unaware of how much learning they are absorbing.
This year, the non-profit and MSDE accredited school will be honoring its first annual Legacy Award recipient. This alumni-sponsored award recognizes an individual in our community for their outstanding commitment to the positive development of young children. All donations to this award directly benefit the co-op in honor of the award recipient.
The honoree will be chosen by the SCPC Board of directors and announced at the Denim & Diamonds auction, dinner and dance from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m on March 8 at the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Church in Annapolis. Tax deductible donations are warmly accepted. Tickets are $40 each and still available. They can be ordered by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The preschool will be holding an open house at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5. Additionally, private tours are always available. For more details, please visit www.davidsonvilleprek.com.
