Driver Critical After Hitting Tractor-Trailer in West Friendship: Police
The driver of a Jeep is in critical condition at shock trauma after Thursday night crash, Howard County police reported.

WEST FRIENDSHIP, MD — A woman is in critical condition after her Jeep crashed into a tractor-trailer Thursday night off MD 32 in West Friendship, according to the Howard County Police Department.
Gina Shears, 41, of Dundalk, was driving south on Route 32 when she hit a tractor-trailer that was turning left from northbound Route 32 onto I-70, police reported.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. when the tractor-trailer had a flashing red arrow, according to police.

After the crash, Shears was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was listed in critical condition Friday. She was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt in her 1997 Jeep.
Police said that Robert Lewis Jr., 28, of Baltimore, who was driving the 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer owned by Innovative Trucking in Severna Park, was not injured.

No charges have been filed, and officials are continuing to investigate the crash.
