Police Identify 3 Victims in Elkridge Collision

Howard County Police have identified the three men that died in a Thursday morning crash in Elkridge.

Twenty-year-old Degly Ubaldo Monroy Melendez and brothers Carlos Osorio, 25, and Oscar Osorio, 31, were killed. All three are from Hyattsville.

Police say Melendez was driving a Chevy Impala northbound on US Route 1 near Meadowridge Road at about 6 a.m. at a "high rate of speed."

At the same time, a tractor-trailer was driving southbound on Route 1, making a left turn, and the Impala drove into it on the 7500 block of Washington Blvd., according to a preliminary report.

Police say Carlos Osorio was in the front passenger seat of the Impala and Oscar Osorio was in the rear passenger seat.

The truck driver, a 58-year-old man, was not injured in the collision.

All lanes of Route 1 were closed for most of the morning near the scene of the collision.
